Hot and Crispy Horseradish Cheddar Burger

The star of this hearty half-pound burger is the cascade of melted Horseradish Cheddar Cheese bringing forth a hot, sweet tartness with the rich, nutty flavor of the cheese. Crispy fried onions, pickled jalapeños and Horseradish Cheddar Cheese top a burger patty that has been basted in sweet-and-sour sauce.


  • Great Midwest® Horseradish Cheddar cheese, slices, 12 each
  • Hamburger patties, 8 oz. each, 4 each
  • Sweet & sour sauce, ½ cup
  • Pickled jalapeños, sliced into rounds, ½ cup
  • Fried onions, ½ cup
  • Round roll, toasted, sliced, 4 each


  1. Grill or griddle 4 hamburger patties to the desired temperature; baste hamburgers while cooking with sweet & sour sauce.
  2. For each burger, 2 minutes before the desired temperature is reached, place 3 slices Horseradish Cheddar cheese over top to melt; place on bun.
  3. Place jalapeños over melted cheese and stack the fried onions on top before covering with top of bun; serve.

Yield: 4 Servings
