Goat Cheese–Stuffed Jalapeño Poppers

Jalapeño chiles are stuffed with a creamy textured traditional Goat Cheese, coated in egg whites and then pan-fried until crispy and golden, and served with a side of spicy tomato sauce. The rich, tangy notes of the Goat Cheese blended with the pepper’s heat makes an exciting dish.


  • Woolwich Dairy Chevrai , 1 cup
  • Stella® Mozzarella, shredded, ½ cup
  • Green hiles, medium, blanched, peeled, 4 each
  • Egg whites, whipped, 8 each
  • Spicy tomato sauce, 1 cup


  1. Combine the Woolwich Dairy Goat Cheese and the Stella® Mozzarella
  2. Stuff each chili with an equal amount of cheese
  3. Coat the pepper with the egg whites and fry in a shallow pan over medium high heat
  4. Heat the tomato sauce, lay in the bottom of a plate, place the chili over top

Kitchen Tips

  • This variation on the traditional Mexican chile relleno can be seasoned with lime and cilantro, or adapted to other cuisines with different garnishes.
  • To core jalapeño peppers quickly and easily prior to stuffing, skip the knife in favor of a coring tool that removes membrane and seeds in one go.
